The LEFT jar has developed darker jelly blobs inside the liquid, sealed in by the fine skin.
I was a bit worried about a white looking little cluster on the surface of the MIDDLE jar. Taking a magnifying glass to it I was relieved to discover that it was only a cluster of little bubbles and not the dreaded mold. Sigh of relief! This is the jar that has a 'mother' scoby on the bottom. I think that the extra bubbles might very well stem from the old scoby sending up extra bubbles to the top.
The RIGHT jar with the green tea looks very calm with possibly the thinnest skin of them all.
Here is a closer view of each of the jars:
I reckon, the speedy development of the new scobys may be due to the over-generous amount of starter liquid I added at the beginning. I also placed a heat pad along the back of the window to prevent the cultures getting too cold in the night.
So, an altogether satifying second day of Kombucha fermentation.
